Does marijuana use affect driving?
Does marijuana use affect driving?
- Who said it (Author?)
National Institute on Drug Abuse
- From what point of view? (Author/Context)
The NIDA releases information from the point of view of an institution against any kind of recreational drug use.
- To Whom? (Reader/Audience)
Anyone interested in this issue, people who think about driving high
- According to what principles? (Any professional contexts or constraints?)
This organization is based around the idea that people should not be using recreational drugs, and they do not compare marijuana to alcohol like many other articles do.
- Against whom? To what end? With what financing? With what type of proof?
They have two solid British studies to gather information from, saying that people driving high are much more likely to be the cause of an accident.
- Which principles that you are learning in They Say/I Say are being followed? Any ignored or absent?
Quotations and summarizing of the studies that are being referenced.
- This week, take note of anything you notice about the rhetorical uses of color, multimodal textual features, elements and contrast in the articles,
There is an image of a marijuana leaf, there are bolded titles (both of the article and the organization), and there is an image from the point of view of a driver in a car, with the outside blurred. I think that this is supposed to show what the outside may look like to a person driving under the influence.
